Thk Weather. After a dry spell, a heavy shower of rain fell early yesterday morning lasting up to 8. SO. a.m. The rain will do a great deal of good, and more is urgently needed.
Akaroa District High School—The primary and high echoed pupils of the Akaroa D -triot High School will break up for their summer holidays to-morrow. The school will re assemble on Monday, February 8, 1915
Telephone Shock - During yesterday's thunderstorm a resident of Akaroa happened to havo a telephone recover to his ear just as there was a brillianifc flaah of lightning. Ihe shock from tbe wire deafened him for nearly an hour afterwards*
