DUVAUCHELLE MONTHLY STOCK SALE.
The monthly stock sale waa held at Duvauchelle on Friday, when there was a large attendance and a yarding of about 410 head of cattle, besides four or five lines of sheep The entry of fat cattle filled one race, and represented some fine prime cow and heifer beef, one or two prime lines of steers, but tbe balance of tbe fat pens wanted some topping off.
Quotations for fat cattle were:— Heifers £5 17s 6d, unfinished to £9 ss, cows £7 to £10 2s Gd,steers £10 to £14 7s 6d,
The demand foe store cattle of all ages was poor, and prices showed a considerable decrease all through There wag a better demand for two and three year old sorts, of which there was a big entry, bur, for younger sorts there was practically no demand, and very few sales were effected, though, there was a good yarding The range of prices was:—Thin season's calves 19s to 27s (passed), yearlings £1 18s to £3 18s, according to size and quality, two year-olds £3 15s to £5 12->, two and a half year olds £6 3t, three year olds £7 10* to £8 10*, empty cows £5 2- 6:i to £6 7* 6d, empty heifers £3 10.-> to £5 17- G<_ Springers fold fiom £4 2s Gd to £5 15*. there being a very Miail entry. Bulls sold from £3 15s io £6 10s there being a good number yarded. The following sales are reported :--
Mr B Latter hold: Fat eborn wethers 24-i 9d, fat shorn ewes 22a 9d, pfn two tooth wethera 18s 6d, old ewes and lambs (all counted) lis 6d, fat beifer £8 ss, empty cows £6 7a 6d and £6 103, 6 fat bullocks (account Messrs Masefield Bros., Gougb's Bay) £14 7s 6d, and 5 ditto at £12 12s 6d, fat cow £8 153, 3 at £7 s*. 1 at £10 t 2s 6d, store heifer £5 17s 6d, fat cow £9, 8 fat heifers (on account R, S. Hay, Pigeon Bays £8 ss, 28 yearlings £3 10 at £3 ss, 5 ad £1 £1 10s, 10 two year old heifers £5 12g, 2 empty cows £5 17s Gd, 5 springers £5 15s (passed), red polled boll £6 10s, others at £4 123 6d, £4 53, £4 and £.3 15?, 25 calve 3 19s, 8 two year old heifers £3 183. Messrs H. Matson & Co. sold : 6 yearlings' £3, 12 at £8 Is and 21 at £3 Is, 4 two-year olds £3 15s, 15 empty heifers £3 17s 6d (passed), 14 two year empty heifers £3 10s (passed), fat cow £8 17s Gd
N.Z. Farmers' Co op. Association sold : Fat beifere, 1 at f8 ss, o £9 ss, 6 fat steers £10, 9 at £12 12< 6d, 2 fat cows £7« 53 yearliDgs 28s 6d (passed), 22 two year heifers £4 (passed), 29 two and a half year o'd steers £6 3s, 20 calves 27s (passed), bulls £5 ss, £5, and £10 for Holstein half (passed). National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd., sold : Empty cow £7 5?, pen 6W68 and wethers 133 6d, 8 three year store steerß £8 10s, 16 ditto £7 10s, empty heifer £4 I7s 6d. Messrs W D. Wilkins & Son? sold : Fat cow £9 ss, fat bullock £11 10a, 29 calves 25s (passed), heifer, in milk,£4 2s 6d.
