GERMAN ATTACK FAILS. Farts, November 29. An official communique states : — The enemy's cannonade was mora active, but he waa usinj little heavy .artillery, consequently the artillery duel was everywhere to our advan tage. Our infantry captured various points, D'Apprui, north and south of Ypres. Three German regiments made an attack north of Arra?, which com pletely- failed. We especially progressed at Fay, between Somrna and Chaulnes. Our shells destroyed a gun emplacement and machine gun detachment, and caused the explosion of a battery.
