More is badly i needed to freshen up the pastures and the I cocksfoot paddocks, Launch Service to Peninsula House Show.—The timetables of the launches leaving Akaroa for the Peninsula Horse Show and Pastoral Association's annual show on Thursday next, are given elsewhere. Show Day —Friday (Show Day) was observed fairly generally as a holiday in Akaroa. The bank and schools were closed and most of the shops. Only a small nuim ber left by the car to connect with the 7 40 train from Little River, The difficulty of getting back from Little River to Akaroa at night prevents people making tho one day trip to Christcburch now. Wairewa County Elections.—The election for two members to serve on , the Wairewa County Council to represent the Kirn loch Riding, and three members to represent the Little River Riding will be held at Little River to-morrow. Those nominated for the Kinloch Riding are Mpssrs J F. Buchanan, T. Feathor and J. F. Fahey, and those for he Little River Riding Messrs O. Barolay, H, T. Chapman, Jas. Chapman, J. O, Coop andT. Thompson.
