Correspondence wa« road— From the Audit Office; enc'osirg certified balance sheet up to March 81 ."1914. The chairman reported tbat Messrs E- Spurp-and J. Harris had accepted the Board's offer of permanent em ployment, but lie had arranged with tbem to proceed with their metal contract till further instructed. Approved. Mr Coffin reported that he bad examined tbe place complained of on the Little Akaloa road, and tbe surfacemen had improved same. The chairman bad inspected the Back road drain, which Mr Ware bad asked to have cleared, and it was re solved that the surfacemen see to it as Boon as the water allowed of its being clone
Mr Mcintosh had got tbe metal at Little Akaloa blinded,and tbe watertables clearedj>ut, but the screenings were not puCon yot. -Mr V. Craw bad applied for a cul vert at crossing opposite bis bouse. No action '■■■was taken in the matter Mr Tbacker asked for . leave to store some, graso seed on the old wharf sbeg, Okain's, for a few months. Leave was granted, provided room was found to be available. Mr Coffin suggested that ,it would be as well to have a few hundred feet of bluegum planking cut, and tbe matter was left in tbe chairman's hands. Mr W. Barkle was appointed ranger for the Little Akaloa part of the dis trict, tbe remuneration to be driving fees.
Accounts were passed to the amount of £120,' and the Board rose
