LIBERAL CANDIDATE FOR ELLESMERE SEAT.

A meeting of tbe Liberal organisation ib tbe Ellesmere Electorate was held at Lincoln on Monday last to select a candidate to stand in the Liberal interests for tbe Ellesmere seat. Mr G. Witty acted as chairman. There were about thirty delegates present, representative of Akaroa, Little River and the different polling places in the Plains portion of the Electorate.

Messrs G. Armstrong and Rowell sent apologies, and wished the delegate! every success.

Tbe meeting was enthusiastic, and it was decided to select Mr FreĀ°; of Bouthbridge, member of a number of looal bodies, as the Liberal candidate. This was the only nominee.

Mr Free comes from tbe West Coast, and was for years a member of tbe late Right Hon. R. J. Seddon's committee.. Mr Free is a fairly fluent speaker, and is considered a very suitable candidate for tbe Liberal interests.
