WAINUI RIFLE CLUB.
The Wainui Defence Rifle Cfub held a well attended meeting in the library last Monday Mr Newbegin was voted to tbe chair.
Tbe report and balance sheet were read and adopted, Bhowing a credit balance of £2 23 4d.
The following officers were elected:— ; Patron, Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes; presidents, Messrs H. D. Buchanan and G. Armstrong;, vice presidents, Messrs J. Kennedy, J. D. Bruoe, G. T. Muloock, U. W. Piper, L. I Wright, J. Gaskin.H. Nibblett, J. H. Wit- j Ham*, D. Bates, H. Matson, C McGuine3s, H. Bell and C. Burland; oaptain, Mr J Donovan ; vice-captain, Mr L V\ right; sec. \ retary and treasurer, Mr W, H. Buekland ; committee, Messrs D. Wright, C. Wright, A j MoPhail, W. Warner, J. Wright, jr.: handl- j cappers, captain, vice captain, and Rifleman ' Haylock; caretaker, Rifleman W. Warner; auditor, Mr G. Murdock.
Rifleman Donovan moved that a vote of thanks be recorded on tbe minutes to Mr Newbegin for his past services to tbe club. Seconded by Mr Warner, and carried with acclamation.
It was unanimously resolved tnat the olub's funds usually spent on prizes go as a contribution to tbe Poor ot Great Britain, Ireland and Belgium Fund. It was moved by Rifleman Warner that Rifleman C. W. A. Wrißht be appointed to sign cheques in conjunction with the secretary. Seoon ded by Rifleman J. Wright and oar 'led. The meeting then adjourned.
