The two bodies brought to the surface this morning were those of John Bowler, aged 20, single, and another who was not identified. Great difficulty is now being experienced in the rescue, owirjg to the flooding of the mines, the pumps hay ing been disabled in the explosion. Six other bodies have been dis covered, but the depth and rapidity with which the water 'v vising prevented these being recovered. Twenty are supposed to be still below. . The -funeral of twenty took place this afternoon. Later. The bodies of Jamea Darby,. \V. Mitchell and A. Ruaton have been recovered. It transpires that another man was below, making tbe total dead and missing forty two.
