The annual Sub Union match, Peninsula v. Ellesmere, was played at Akaroa on Satur day last, when the Peninsula team defeat' a the Ellesmere representatives by 27 points to 6 points. The Peninsula proved too strong a com* bination for the visitors, who bad not tbeir full Btrength with them The Peninsula team played with ex cello t combination, and although they were vi a'Ve to s ci.c the ball in the 'scrums lieely, ih.ir passing rushes were the best that have been seen on the ground for some years.
