HANDSOME CONTRIBUTION FROM PENINSULA LADIES.

The meeting of ladies held at Akaroa on Saturday showed that a total of £139 had been collected, and the Le Bon's and Okain's Bay contributions were not to band. The ladies in the room also handed in to the Mayoress (Mrs G. Armstrong), 32 "housewives" to be sent on to the officer in command of the Canterbury forces. Of the sum mentioned £52 19s was collected in Akaroa, and £85 9s in the Bays. Thanks are due to the collectors for their good efforts. We give below a list of donations.
