The yarding of store sheep was slightly larger than the previous week, and consisted almost entirely of ewts and hogget?, wethers being Halted to a few pen 3. Narbey (Kir-> wee) 56 wethers at 25s 2d to 28s 3d. The yarding of fat cattle was unexpectedly large for the season of the year, the entry totalling 219 head, compared with 214 the previous week, 344 on July 15tb, 280 on July Bth, and 355 on July Ist. Quotations are: - best steers to £24 Average steeJ-s £7 103 to £12 Heifers £6 103 to £11 15 i Cows £5 10s to £13 Extra to £13 10a ■ Beef per 1001b 28s to 345, The chiet Peninsula Bales were— J. O. Coop (Little Hirer), 18 steers at J' l2 2s 6d to £13 7s 6d:B. H. Rhodes (Otabuna), 1 heifer at £8 17s 6d; A. JR. Haylock (Aharoa), 1 cow at £7 2s 6d. The supply of veal calves showed little variation,, and prices realised from 8a to 84s for prime suckers. Store cattle came forward in large numbers. The quality was above the average.
