In ooniequence of the general holiday for th* Sing's Birthday the Addington live stock Market was held on Tuesday instead of on Wednesday as usual. The general all-round yarding for all classes of stock was smaller than usual, and the attendance of farmers, butchers, and exporters was also smaller The jardinc of store sheep was a small one and consisted principally of lambs, the bulk bang made up of a few pens of ewes and -wethers At tha beginning the sale for lambs was slow, prices being below those rnliog at earlier Bales, the sale being a little dragging This however, waa only moment ary, an improvement b**ing soon noticeable, and at theolosethe prices were quite equal to those ruling a week earlier. ' The few lots ef wethers on offer were mostly forward so ts, •nd sold well at unchanged prices, and the same remarks apply to ewes, which sold at •atufaotory prices Quotation?: - Beat lambs, 13s 9d to Gd. .
Good lambs, I2a 6d to 13s 6d. Medium to good lambs, lis 6d to 12s fid. - Very medium lambs, 10s 9d to lis. Cull lambs, 5s Id. Shorn lambs, 9s 4d. Ewe lambs, 153 3d to 16s. Four tooth wethers, 17s to 17s 6d. Two, four, and six-tooth wethers (very for ward) 193 3d, fwoYtooth ewes relate shorn) 17s 9d. Bix and eight-tooth wethers, 20s 4d, Agc-a cull ewes. 3s 6(1 to 43 4d.
The Bales were:— Lambi-73 at 133, 23 at Us sd, 82 at lis 4d 220 at 12s Id, 138 at 13s 7d, 15 at 10 9d, 25 at 5' Id, 50 (ewes) at 16s, 29 (wethers) at 13* 255 at 10s lOd, 149 at 13s Bd.
