MEMBEBB SPOBTS MEETING.
The members of the Akaroa Football flub held a eporta meeting .on the Recreation Gronnd. which provided a afternoon's sport. The programme consisted of four running events and dribbling and place , kicking, competitions. About fiftfien or twenty competitors tnnrd out, and ther> was keen oomoetition in every pvent. An Old Tim-rs' 75yda raoe Hrew ah entry of about ton competitors, Mr L. J Vangjoni winning in a PAllop from Mr H. W. Wilftins. The Ladles' Race was keenly contested by about fif'een or twenty lady runners, Miss Winnie-Lelievre, making a fine sprint, geS * tine first place easily. . ' _ . B Gfiwne (23yds) 2. «. 880 Yards Handioap-L Kearney (15yds) 1, J G Lelievre (ecr) 2. Dribbling Competition—H E Crawehaw, 183ee, 1, 0 Hemingway. 14j9ec, 2. Plaae kicking Competition—H E Craw, •haw 1, B G Mora 2, 8 Hammond 3. All the ovante were really well competed for, large fields taking part. The object of the sports, which are to be held from time to time, is to encourage training, and the comtnUiee's efforts were well baoked up by mambere on Saturday. The officials who oarriefl out the Sporte on Saturday v?ere Meeere A Gray, E E LulUvre, C Goodwin and C Hall. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies. . .
