CHINAMAN SHOOTS YOUNG MAN.
ACCUSED CHARGED WITH MURDER.
Invercargill, May 28. A fatal shooting affair occurred here about midnight. Hector Morrison, twenty years of age, beirlg al leged to have been shot dead by a Chinaman named Loch Em, aged 69, who keeps a boardiqgbouse in Leefc street The Chinese were subjected to frequent annoyance by larrikins, and had to send to the police for assistance last night. When a constable arrived he found Morrison lying dead in a pool of blood on the footpath. After the door bad been battered and two windows broken, the accused, it is said, went out with a gun and fired to scare the intruders. He did not see Morrison in the darkness.
Accused was brought before the court and charged with murder. He was remanded.
