ATTEMPT TO INTRODUCE TARIFF DEBATE,
"LIVELY" SCENES IN THE HOUSE:
Melbourne, May 12.
An attempt to introduce a motion for an adjournment of the tariff debate led to a scene in the Federal Home of Bepreßenta. tives. Anticipating'; an all night . sitting, blankets were distributed amongst Ministeralists. One was captured for a sleeping Oppositionist, and a wild scrimmage occurred in connexion with its fβ-oapture, lasting for some considerable time. The sorimmage was'followed by two members, coming to blows,, and having to be dragged apart. Others were dragged from inoumberant positions on the seats, or knocked over in the struggle. Order was eventually restored, the Deputy-Speaker shouting that he trusted the members would remember they were in Par. iiament, V
