The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday, May 9tb, Present—Mesars D. Hunt (chairman), W. Menzies, J. M. Duxbury, and ' Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read— From Hon. Minister of Public Works stating that be had instructed the District Engineer to inspect and report on the Menzies Bay road. Resolved that the clerk write to the District Engineer asking that the mat ter be decided as soon as possible, Mr Duxbury enquired what was be ing done about the No 10 were.taken off Holmes Bay fence, Resolved, that the clerk write to Forbes>and Co re same. Mr Duxbury moved and Mr Corri gall seconded that Mr Holmes be n >ti fied that Holmes Bay fencing of roads' by the Board had been finished. Carried i
Mr Menzies reminded the Boa>d that am account was.owing to Mrs J Goodwin, for royalty on metal takeo from her quarry at per yard Resolved that the quantity be' ob tamed from the,foreman and account paid. MrDuxbury drrw attention to the fact that' drag chains were being used on metal roads, and thought the prac tice should be stopped Resolved, that proceedings be taken against anyone using drag \ chains on roads in district. "
Mr Duxbury moved Mr Menzies seconded-, that Corrigall Bros, "offer to spawl 800 yaids stone in suitable place on Council Reserve be accepted. Carried.
The foreman reported that men had been employed cleaning watertables,and general repairs on Reynish'sand Pettigrew'e Roads. Hβ also stated that the fence ; below Holmes Bridge required a flood gate. , Resolved the foreman see to the woik. r
On the motion Mr Menzies seconded by Mr Corrigall aocounts amounting to £59 9s were passed for payment, The Board then adjourned.
