The nsual monthly meeting of tbp Okaias Bay Road Board wee held en Saturday, the 9th fast.' Present - Messrs J. R. Thacker, A, I. Maeon, and A. W. Coffin. The clerk, as returning officer, re ported having held an election on May oth, of two members,' Messrs A. H Molnfcosh and A. W. Coffin having been returned.
Oα the motion of Mr Mason, Mr J R. Thacker was voted to the chn.ir for the ensuing year, and briefly returned thanks for the renewal of confidence in him. He also welcomed Mr A. W Coffin to his seat on the Boatd. Correspondence was read—From the Public Works Qffice enclosing new form of application for payment ol grant.
From Mr 0. P. Kay asking for lean of the Board , B pile driving plant. This was granted on the usual con duioii that it ba returdefl in good order. ,
The chairman reported that Mr J. Hartly, with two assistants, bad begun the repairs to tbe Okain's Wharf road. Hβ had interviewed Mr Powria with regard to a reduction on the.balance of his account, but he was unwilling to meet the Board, except to tbe extent of £1, and payment was passed for £17 is 3d.
It was arranged that a stringer binding the sheathing at tbe Fchool bouse bridge he; renewed,-as tbe old one was decayed Air Mason gave notice that he would move next Board day that a generalrate of fd in the £ be leyied on the whole district.
