Tbe delay in the shipments of New Zealand cheese, caused by tbe strike, bas already bad its effects upon the English market, and led to more inquiry for Canadian cheese, with sales at better figures tban were obtainable laet week. It is thought that the N*w Zealand product will not reacb Eug isnd in any large quantify before 15'ti January, aud in the meantime it is expeofied that a good portion of tbe small stock held here rmy be worked off. It is stated that'there are less stocks to come forward from the country points than for many years past. All cheese west of Toronto will bp. wanted for the. middle West, *nd quite p. quantity will be required fo , !h local trade, übiob is increasing xvery year.
