The'annual picnic in connection with the German Bay School*was held on Thursday last, there being a large attendance.

The committee wish to thank the ladies for the able manner in which they worked to bring tbe treat to a success, also to Mr Shepherd for\the use of his paddock for tbe races. Mr W. H. Shadbolt deserves great credit for the way in which he handicapped, as was shown by tbe races, which were closely contested.

A danoe was held in tbe evening, and was kept going until the small hours. Messrs James Cairns, A. Hunt, T, Mora and Master Cairns supplied the music,
