From Public Works Department notifying unauthorised grants for Big Bill road £200, and completing metal Okain's to Little Akaloa £100, end a«king that estimates and plans for those works be forwarded to tbe District Engineer, Christchurch. From District Engineer, acknowledging receipt of said pUns and speci fica.ttons, and stated be bad sent re commendation on same to Wellington From Hardwood, Co. stating thai, j they'bad a good selection of timber in stock at present.
Tbe chairman stated tbat cjj an application from Mr T. G. Ware's solicitors for authority to take action in regard to a nuisance caused bydrainings from a cowyard and piggery coming on to his land, be bad signed the nt-ces saru authority.
This action was approved
Mr Mcintosh asked the chairman to apply for the u=e of the Council's crusher for crushing about 1000 yards in the Little Akaloa district Agreed to.
An application from Mr Mclatoeh to be allowed to lay water pipes across tbe road to the Little Akaloa wharf was granted on the usual conditions tbat tbe safety of the public be conserved.
Mr Mason reported that the stone wall on the new jetty road needed some cement facing, as stone was be ma displaced, and was authorised to t>e' repairs done.
Tbe Clark was directed to advertise in the Akaroa Mail that all rates unpaid Aby March 81st will be sued for with. 10 per cent, penalty added The chairman reported tbat tbe pile driving plant bad been returned by tbe Le Bon's Board to tbe Okain's wbarf. Tbe Clerk to ask if arrange, ments bad been made for carting sam o a safe place. c
t It-was deoided tbat an election of two members in the room of Messrs Mcintosh and Dr Thacker, who retire by rotation, be held on May 6. Nomi nations on April 29.
Accounts were passed to amount of £48114«, and tbe Board adjourned to April 18.
