AKAROA BOATING CLUB.
A committee meeting of the Akaroa Boating Club was held in the boathouse on Tuesday, 17th March, 1914 ; present—Messrs T. Lewitfc (in chair),' . W.H. Parkin, C.'Goodwin, M. Kearney, T. McGuire, R Bruce, C. W. "' Leete and M. Daly.
The minutes of the previous meet* i ing were read and confirmed, i Mr Goodwin moved, and Mr Bruce ' seconded, that the following accounts - j'be paid :—T. E. Taylor & Co. 18s Id, , Wi Webb £55 14s, J. McLen»ghan 10s 6d, W. D. Wilkins & Sons £6 14s. Mr Bruce moved,' Mr McGuire '" seconded, that the annual social be held on Thursday, 26th March. Carried. , ~ Mr Lewitfc moved, Mr Leete '■•' seconded, that Messrs Daly, Brace, ■'• McGuire, Parkin, Goodwin and jj\ Westenra be a sub committee for social.
Mr Goodwin moved, Mr Bruce ' seconded, that bottom part of shed, . occupied by the pleasure boats, be let • with social ball as supper-room. Carried, Mr Leete proposed and Mr Bruce seconded, that the club obtain the requisite number of trestles for supper table. Carried. Mr Bruce moved and Mr McGuire secorjded, that the captain's action in letting chairs to St. Peter's church be approved. Carried. Mr Leete, on behalf of St Peter's Church, thanked the club for tbe use of chairs, j The meeting then adjourned, ' :
