I MEETING OF GENERAL ENTER / TAINMENT COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the general committee appointed for the entertain ment of the delegates who will at tend (he New Zealand Fire Brigades' Conference at Akaroa at the beginning of next month was held last night, his Worship tbe Mayor pre siding. The chairman said he was deputed to see the launch owners re taking those attending a picnic at Wainui. Hβ had done so, and also made arrangements for the swimming carnival
Tbo chairman's action was approved and Messrs M. G. Daly, W. Jacobson and D. Handisides were appointed a swimming carnival committee.
Tbe following draft programme was approved : — Sunday, March Bcb. Morning ~ Cbuich parade, welcome by bis Worship the Mayor, County Chairman, and Member for tbe district. Afternoon—Delegates entertained in tbe Diunaio 1-m afternoon tea.
Monday ia 1 Tuesday, 9th and 10th — Conference 9am.
Wednesday Open day; danoe in tbe evening. Thursday—Picnic at Wainui; evening, delegate* attend Hay ward's Pic tares.
Friday' —Sw'tnming Carnival ; even ing, Diane? o delegates, followed by public amoks conceit. Saturday— Cricket, tennis and bowls.
