APPOINTMENT OF JUDGES.
CONSIDERATION BY CABINET
Wellington, January 26. Consideration is being given by tbe Cabinet to the questionof tbe appointment of two judges—one to succeed Sir Joshua Williams, who recently re tired, Rod another under the terms of tbe Judicature Act Amendment Act of last session- Ministers decline to maka any statement on the subject at the present juncture, but it is under stood that the two appointees are to Mr Justice Sim, Judge of tbe Arbitration Court, who will bs raised to full judicial honours, and Mr Hosking, X..C, of Dunedin.
The Minister of Justice will leave for Dunedin this evening to attend tbe gathering of farewell to Sir Jos. bua Williams, and probably an offi. cial statement as to the appoint rnenfcs will be made on that occasion.
