Shearing operations in the Wainui distriot, which have been very greatly delayed, are I, now practically finished. The wool i<3 wait, ing in the wharf shed for the s.s. Cygnet. The new tennis court cannot be opened until a later date, much to the disappoint mtnt of the young people as the asphalt has not set satisfactorily. The grass seed is now ready for reaping, and cutting Las just commenced. Stock have done much better during the last fortnight, the feed having hardened consider ably. There was a good downpour of raip I last Wednesday, and it was greatly weli corned by sheep and dairy farmers,
