BUILDING SITES AT AKAROA.
TO THE EDITOR
Sir,—Seeing that the citizens of the Akaroa Borough are such a progressive people, may I be permitted to suggest to His Worship the Mttyor and Councillors the desirability of calling'a meeting.'of the burgesses to discuss the possibility of obtaining the legal power ro enable the large area of land now being used for grazing cattle in the centre of Akaroa Borough, to be out up and devoted to its rightful purpose, viz, residential sites. It is needless to point out that the best sites in the Borough are embraced in the land re-' ferred to. It seems of little use thinking of further progress if building Bites are not favourable for the olasa of people from Christ
f-h'irch who would be induced to build In Aka*oa were ibere building accommodation procurable, coir-ideii g Akaroa possesses such a be-uficial climate with all the health, ful fan 1 ties, which the citizens seem too modest to proolaim,--! am, etc,
ONE DESIROUS OF PEOGRESP.
