CHRISTCHURCH REGATTA.

TO BE HELD AT CORSAIR BAY, The Christchurch Regatta Com mittee on Wednesday night decided to hold its regatta this season in Lyttelton Harbour on Saturday, February 28. It had been proposed to hold the regatta at Coi'3air Bay, with an alternative course at Port Levy. A sub committee which inspected the latter course recently, re ported that it would be ideal to row on, but there was an absence of landing facilities. The opinion was expressed by members of the committee that it would be useless to select Port Levy as au alternative course in the even 1 ; of rough weather at Corsair Bay. The advantages of the Sumner Estuary as a course was discussed, but wben it was pointed out that an excellent short distance alternative course could be secured at Pur,au, it was decided to hold the regatta at Corsair Bay, and to put on the pro gramme that the regatta would be bekl in Lyttelfcon Harbour, the .30m mittee to inspect the course at Purau.
