PIPER'S CUP COMPETITION,
The abo7e oup will be competed for at Akaroa on New Year's Day under the following conditions :— Teams of eight, inclnding t'e N.C.0., who will fire, from M R., K. Coy, G.T.S. OH and 09 Coy. Tbe following practices will be fired ;-- -Ist Practice—Four targets, 13 x 9, will be set up at a distance of 200 yds from the firing point. The team will form up 100 yards in rear of the firing point, rifles empty, safety oatohes raised. On the command "advanoe' the team will double to the firing point and open fire soparate at the target; Time allowed l£ minutes from the time the order to advanoe ia given. 2nd Practice— Snapshooting at 200 yards. A figure 8 target will be exposed five times only from different places in the butts tor lout sftcondß.
