MURDERER PAYS THE PENALTY.
London, December 17
Ernest Kelly was hanged at Manchester for murderiDg Bardaley. a bookmaker, of Oldham, on July 26th. Several hundred Oldham women and youths marched to Manchester as a protest against Mr McKenna's refusal to recommend the King to grant a reprieve.
The sympathy with Kelly was due to the fact that Edward HiltoD, his accomplice, was reprieved. Mr McKenna explained that Hilton was under 18 and was mentally defective.
