CANTERBURY*V, PENINSULA A very pleasant match was played on the Little River courts yesterday, between a team representing Canterbury and a Peninsula team made up of players of the Little River and Akaroa clubs The match resulted in a win for Canterbury by 79 games. The Little River club entertained the Christchurch and Akaroa players to morning tea and luoeh, and the ladies kindly provided afternoon tea at the courts. At the conclusion of the match, Mr J. F Buchanan thanked the visitors for the pleasant day's sport. The Peninsula team had been beaten, but games like this did a world of good, and he hoped the match would be an annual affair. He then called for. three cheers for the visitors. Mr B. Taylor, secretary of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Aasociation. thanked Mr Buchanan for bis kind remarks, and called for three cheers for the Peninsula team.
