A committee meeting of the Peninsula Horse Show and Pastoral Association was held at Duvauchelle on Friday; present—Messrs F. W. Williams (president), in tbe chair, E. A. Pettigrew, D. McKay, D, Barwick, T. E. McKeDzie, M. Flannery, G H. O'Callaghan, W. W. Williams and C, W, Leete (secretary). The minutes of tbe last meeting were read and confirmed, The secretary submitted draft balance sheet, showing receipts (estimated) to be £153 63, and expenditure £127 153, leaving a balance to credit of £28 16s. The president, in moving tbe adoption of tbe draft balance .beet, said , tbey bad had another successful show, ' a fine day, and be hoped another year to see a great accession of member.. Seconded by Mr McKay, and carried Mr Pettigrew moved, Mr Barwiok seconded, that this meeting reoords its deepest sympathy with tbe family of the late Mr Laurenson in their sad bereavement. Carried unanimously. Mr Latter moved, Mr Pettigrew seconded, that the prize-money and accounts, subject to certification, be passed for payment. Carried. The chairman moved, Mr McKenzie seconded, hearty votes of thanks be accorded to the judges for the careful and impartial manner in which they carried out their duties, the secretary to write them to that effect. Carried. Mr O'Callaghan moved, Mr McKenzie seconded, that the treasurer and secretary be authorised to operate on the Bank account. Carried. Tbe special prizes awarded to the cookery classes were allotted a. undex: —Beat plum pudding, Mrs Barker; best plate scones, Mrs D. McKay; most points, Mrs Cossar 1, Mrs D, McKay 2, Mr Pettigrew moved, Mr W. Wil*. lianjj,seconded, a very hearty vote of*. thanks to the president for his.zeal and energy in making tbe Show bo successful. Carried.
The president briefly replied, thank* ing tbe members for tbeir splendid support, Tbe meeting then adjourned to Saturday, December 13.
