PENINSULA CONTINGENT OF

SPECIAL CONBTABLES.

The Peninsula contingent of special constables will assemble afc Little River to day afc noon and proceed to Cb.ri3tcb.urcb, where they will be sworn in. It ia expected that the contingent will be about a hundred strong and all mounted. If the contingency arises, there will be a good many more specials offering, and those going to Chriatchurch to-day will be relieved. Owing to the urgency of the dairy industry as many more as have offered would' be available as special constables. A good many of those going are doing so at great inconvenience, and principally because the strike is hampering them in the carrying oat of their work in trades and farm work.
