Rome, November 13
Gagparo Boscarine, a jeweller, of Naples, was robbed of jewellery valued at £20,000 The police searched a fruit shop without result, but later noticed some urchins playing with jewels in the gutter. They confessed that they had stolen oranges and citrons, in which they found the precious stones. The police then reexamined the shop, and found the rest of the stones hidden in fruit. They thereupon arrested the shopkeeper.
