SOCIAL AT PIGEON BAY.

On Wednesday evening laet, a very pleasant gathering took place in Knox Presbyterian Churoh, Pigeon Bay, the occasion being to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs A. White, who have been reiidents in the Bay for over forty years, and for many years members of the Presbyterian Church ; and also to welcome the Mieaea Reid, who have lately returned from the mission field in China. The Rev, J. Pattiaon was in the chair, and briefly addreseed the maeting. Addressee were also given by tbo Misses Reid, the Rev. W. Knoffles and Mr James Reid. Several musical selections were given by the choir. After refreshments had been handed round, Mr Pettigrew, on behalf of the Presbyterian Church, presented Mr and Mrs White with two handsomely framed photos of the Pigeon Bay Churoh. The singing of the Doxology brought) a very pleauant and profitable evening to a close.
