TUG-OF-WAR.
To the Editor. Sir.—Kindly allow a few remarks on your Le Bon's notes on the Tug-of-War recently held at Oknin'p, as I believe they are liable to be mieunder* stood. He states that efter the first pull the Okain'e team refused to allow the Le Bone's team to replace one of their number who was burl. This on the fice of it may appear rather bard, but I think that when it ia known that the Leßon's Captain proposed to substitute an Okain'a man for the indisposed one, it will generally be allowed that no satisfaction to either side would have resulted had tbe proposal been accepted. He further remarks that some of the Lcßon'fl were in an unfit condition owing to a recent visit to Town. Had our' team been apprised of the fact that a trip to Town had proved bo overpowering to their opponents they would have no doubt consented to postpone the momentous struggle till the ill effects had abated.— Youra, etc., ONE OF THE OKAIN'S TEAM.
