Alexandra Sports.
The annual sports gathering of the Alexandra Caledonian Society will be held on Tuesday.next (King's birthday). Although the entries are not as large as f former years a glauce through the list's, shows that the quality of the competitors is of a very high standard. \ In the cycling events riders from all parts of Otago are nominated, and these races should provide interesting competition. Pedestrians are entered in goodly numbers, and the sprint events promise to be keenly contested. The presence of Curry, Harris, M'Leod and Aitcheson will lend additional interest to the running events, and as Mr Attfield has carefully obscured the probable winners the fancy pick appears to be outside the bounds of probability. The same remark applies to the cycling handicaps, for which Mr Wilson lias complied his adjustments in a befitting manner. The tracks are in splendid order, as also are the grounds, and good weather is now only required to ensure a successful gathering. Following are the handicaps:—
