The Lady Annie (late Coronation) is being dismantled, and an effort will be made to pull the pontoons up the Manuherikia to the old Nil Desperandum claim, where it is intended to resume operations. The Perseverance No 1 washed up for 22ozs for 93 hours' work last week. We hear that Mr 11. Leicester, of Waikaka, and formerly of Alexandra, has received an appointment as dredgemaster of a company iu Terra del Fuego, Two dredgemen of Alexandra have also been engaged as wiuchmen for the same company. Mr Dan Murray, well-known iu this district, having been in charge of several dredges on the Molyueux and lately at Waikaia, has been cngagoJ to proceed to Peru, South America, in charge of a prospecting party. The ground taken up is reported to be immensely rich, and suitably adapted for dredging. The party leave Auckland on the 10th inst. With the exception of the Ngapara No 3, which has been closed down in the meantime, all the dredges on the Nevis are working, and winning fairreturns. An hydraulic sluicing claim has been taken up adjoining the New Era dredge, and the syndicate intends erecting a plant at once.
