FORMER MAYOR RETURNED

ELECTION IN BALCLUTHA (P.A.) ) DUNEDIN, This Day. Balclutha, which had the dubious honour of nominating nobody for the mayoralty and only one candidate for the Borough Council when the Domin-ion-wide nominations closed for the local body elections, held its elections on Saturday. This time there were two mayoral candidates and 13 for eight vacancies on the Borough Council. Of the nine, the sitting Mayor, Mr I. S. A. Jenkins, was returned to office. Of 1650 electors on the roll only 887 voted.
