CRIMES ACT
AMENDING LEGISLATION INTRODUCED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, November 22. Aircraft are to be placed in the same category as railways, tramways, ships and other transport services in the degree of their protection from wanton damage or danger. This will result from the Crimes Amendment Bill, which was introduced in the House of Representatives to-night. The Attorney-General (Mr T. C. Webb) explained that the amendments had been proposed because of the discovery that, the Crimes Act, in its existing form, did not cover the case of a man who had fired at a passing aeroplane. Another clause of the Bill amends the original Act to enable a jury which has retired to consider its verdict in a criminal case, to be given refreshments in a public .dining room. At present a jury must have its meals in the room in which it is deliberating.
