CHILD’S DEATH

DROWNED IN WELL (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 20. Vernon Anthony Thompson, aged two, was drowned in a well at his home at Karioi yesterday. The son of Mr and Mrs J. Thompson, he was found floating face down in the well, which contained about 2 h feet of water. He had been seen by his father about 10 minutes previously playing in the house, and was discovered in the well, which is about 20 yards from the house, by a guest, Miss R. Bell. Artificial respiration was applied for about 30 minutes.
