MANY STOPPAGES

VALUABLE TIME LOST IN AUCKLAND

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Thirty working hours have been lost on the Auckland waterfront within a week through industrial stoppages and union meetings.

Congestion of shipping is mounting, and there are five vessels Avaiting in the stream. They are the Port Vindex, King Robert, Wangaratta, Trelissick and Wynclnvood Hill. The last-named has moved out to make Avay for the Aorangi, due to-day from Vancouver. Eleven overseas vessels are due to arrive here by Monday. The import licensing year expires on December 31, but the date has been extended to February 28 so that if the peak for imports is not reached by Christmas it may occur soon afterwards.
