GRAIN AND PRODUCE

COMMERCIAL

OATS FOR TRINIDAD

The Ashburton grain, seed and produce merchants report that the seasonal quietness prevails on the local market. Most lines of wheat have now been marketed, and a good demand exists for lines suitable for fowl Vfheat. A small shipment of oats is nowbeing made for export to Trinidad. Should the market prove favourable, further supplies will be forwarded, which will relieve the stock position in New Zealand. A better demand exists for Partridge peas, as some shippers are short of their commitments. All lines of grass seeds remain firm at recent quotations, while clover is still in strong demand.
