PERSONAL

Mr Alfred E. Dobson, who died recently in his eighty-fifth year at Ashburton after a short illness, was bom in Cumberland, England. He arrived in New Zealand in 1913, and engaged in farming at Cave and later at Orton. He took an active interest in farming, and was president of the Temuka branch of Federated Farmers for some years. Up to the time of the school closing he was chairman of the Orton School. For the last 10 years lie had lived in Temuka.
