ASHBURTON UNION FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETS At a meeting o£ tlie finance committee o£ the Ashburton Rugby Union, held last evening and presided over by the treasurer, Mr T. Phillips, the new constitution of the New Zealand Rugby Union and the new rules governing the Maori Advisory Board were discussed.
The secretary (Mr G. V. Furby) was appointed the union’s delegate to attend a special meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union at Wellington on Friday, January 21, when, it is expected that the new constitution and rules will be formally adopted.' In view of Mr Furby’s decision to retire at the close of the financial year it was decided to advertise for applications for a new secretary. Mr Furby, however, has agreed to assist until after the annual meeting.
