FIFTY YEARS SYNE (From the “Guardian,” Mar. 31, 189 S). Lawn Tennis—The Methven Domain presented an animated appearance on Thursday, the occasion being a lawn tennis match between teams representing the Methven and Melrose clubs. Some of the games were very close, causing immense excitement, the Melrose Club eventually winning by the small majority of two points. The Methven Club, of about 40 members, was this season organised -by the Rev. J. R. Clarke, for the purpose of promoting healthy exercise and bringing young people together, and the members are to be congratulated on being able to make such an able stand on their initial match.
