REFEREES’ APPOINTMENT BOARD (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Wellington Rugby Referees’ Association is opposed to the suggestion by the Southland Referees’ Association that a referees’ appointment board of three members should be set up for each island. The Wellington Association, at its annual meeting last night, instructed its delegate to oppose the Southland remit Avhen it came before the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Referees’ Association. Mr A. De Clifton said that what was wanted Avas an interchange of referees. Mr A. Hooper agreed with this view, remarking that it was the only Avay in Avhich uniformity of rulings could be obtained. >
