ASHBURTON CRECHE
APPEAL FOR TOYS Anyone who possesses toys they do not need would find a welcome home for them at the Ashburton Creche. The creche possesses many toys and playthings to occupy the children who have been left there for the day by busy mothers, but these are showing signs of wear. The creche has now been open three weeks, and during that period 35 children have been left in the charge of Nursq J. M. MacGregor, who is a registered maternity nurse. The playroom, full of toys and liny cliairsr'the room in which meals are given, and the special room for babies, are all shining examples of cleanliness and attractiveness.
There are conveniences for heatingmilk and food, and mothers may stay and feed their own children if they wish.
Every care is taken for the comfort, and safety of each child. The rooms, which are located at the back of the Salvation Army Hall, are wire-fenced from the road.
