CADET NURSING DIVISION

EXCELLENT BEGINNING A meeting was held on Wednesday evening at the St. John Ambulance headquarters to form a Cadet Nursing Division. This is an entirely new departure and it is reported that there was a very gratifying attendance of 29 girls between the ages of 11 and 17. This number far exceeded expectations. The meeting was convened under the Lady Cadet Superintendent, Mrs G, Knight. An instructive talk on the principles of first-aid was given, and arrangements were made for the formation and enrolling of the Cadet Nursing Division. The girls were shown over the premises and made an inspection of the St. John Ambulance and equipment. It is expected to hold meetings weekly, commencing next Wednesday night. The girls are very keen, and a number of social activities haye been planned, including sports. As the girls gain their first-aid certificates they will he awarded uniforms. S '■ ■—
