ASHBURTON v. WAIREKA The final of the Gala Cup croquet competitions was played between Ashburton and AVaireka at Methven, Waireka winning by five games to one. Results, with Ashburton names first: Doubles—Mesdames AV. Bell and Smith 23, Mesdames MacMillan and Doggett 26; Mesdames A. Watt and G. AVatson 22, Mesdames Denley and A r ial 26; Mesdames Buxton and Mclnnes 20, Mesdames Turton and Saunders 13. Singles—Mrs Bell 10, Mrs MacMillan 26; Mrs Watt 13, Mrs Denley 26; Mrs Buxton 13, Mrs Turton 26; Mrs Watson 5, Mrs Vial 11 (unfinished); Mrs Smith 13, Mrs Dogged 10 (unfinished).
