MINISTERIAL CHANGES
LORD PETHICK-LAWRENCE RESIGNS (Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, April 17. Lord Pethick-Lawrenee has resigned as Secretary for India. He is to be succeeded by Lord Listowell. Other consequential Ministerial changes are; —Minister without Portfolio, Mr Arthur Greenwood; Lord Privy Seal, Lord Inman. PostmasterGeneral, Mr Wilfred Paling; Minister of Pensions, Mr J. B. Hynd; Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Lord Pakenham. Lord Listowell and Lord Inman will become members of the cabinet, whose number is thus increased by one - ‘ . , • , * Lord Pethick-Lawrence, in his letter of resignation to Mr Attlee, said that he felt that the work of transferring power in India and Buima should be left to younger men.
