ASHBURTON CASES DECIDED. Several applications for consent to the sale of properties in the Ashburton district were given unopposed approval by the Canterbury Rural Land Sales Committee at a sitting in Timaru. Dorothea Agnes McDowell, wife of W. J. McDowell, Hinds, blacksmith, to Corrie Mclnnes, Hinds, farmer, a vacant section at Ashburton on 1 rood, in Peters Street, at £3O. A vacant section of 9-10 of an acre, on behalf of the estate of William 1 Morgan to Joseph Boyle Crawford, Methven, lorry driver, in the Methven township, at the corner of Spaxton. and Blakfortl Streets, at £l2O. There was a previous sale in 1883 at £2O. ' ' Lena Elizabeth Hicks, Alford Forest, to Victor Samuel Leaman, Alford Forest, bushman, a five-room house at Alford Forest on a small holding of 6 acres 2 roods 28 perches. There was a. previous sale at £7OO in 1909. Present sale was approved at £875. Harry Ramskill Best, Christchurch, public accountant, and Annie Elizabeth Pye, Rakaia, to Charles Ernest Carlton, Christchurch, cinematograph projectionist, lease of Rakaia Town Hall on 1 rood of land in town of South Rakaia, occupied by lessee on Saturdays only as picture theatre. Lease at £1 10s every Saturday for five years, with right of renewal for five years, rental to be paid weekly.
